Preparation & Usage
How to Use Black Gold All Purpose Potting Mix 1. Select a container just large enough to line the bottom with 2-3 inches of Black Gold and still have room to cover the root system. Partially cover the drain hole with rocks or pieces of broken clay, and then add those 2-3 inches of mix. 2. Carefully remove the plant in questions from its old home and gently brush the old soil from its roots. (Heavily root-bound plants may need some root untangling. Do this carefully and your plant will thank you.) 3. Place your plant in its new container, centering it just so. Add Black Gold covering your plant's root system to the same level as it was in its old pot, or so that its root system is completely covered and the base of the stem is not. 4. Firm the soil around your plant by pressing gently with your hands. Water your plant thoroughly, allowing the excess to drain out the bottom, and add more Black Gold if needed. 5. Enjoy the fruits of your labor, and talk to your plants every day. This product is low analysis fertilizer. Not recommended for use as a fertilizer product. Helpful Hints: • Close bag after use to keep the mix moist. • Water by touch, not by sight. If the mix feels dry, water until water runs out of the bottom of the pot. Drain any excess water. • Plants will benefit from a regular feeding program. This mix contains a controlled release fertilizer to ensure an even, consistent feeding for new plants. To achieve maximum performance, it is generally recommended you begin feeding with a fertilizer 3-4 weeks after planting for best results. Fertilizer longevity varies depending upon plants grown and growing conditions.
