Three Tips for Weight Management
1. Look for easy ways to increase your protein; Instead of using milk in your cereal or oatmeal, swap in vanilla protein shakes. Make hot chocolate with a chocolate protein powder and use unflavored collagen, or high protein bone broth in soups and stews.
2. Fiber swaps: There are a lot of breads, wraps and crackers that contain 6-9g of fiber per serving. By finding one you like and including it in one of your daily meals or snacks, you can get a quarter of your daily fiber intake with just one new product!
3. Nutrient density: If you are on a medication like a GLP-1 that affects your appetite, it’s more important than ever to focus on nutrient-rich foods to get vitamins and antioxidants that you need. Try having half portions of starches like potatoes, rice and grains and make the other half a vegetable side alternative like mashed cauliflower or veggie “rice” to increase the benefits.
