Maurizio Artisan Pasta is produced from the finest durum wheat semolina in the Campania region of southern Italy. Maurizio Artisan Pasta is carefully pressed through traditional bronze dies, resulting in a uniquely rough texture that allows for maximum sauce absorption. Our pasta is notably less prone to breakage as a result of using a time-honored slow-drying process. For centuries, bronze die pastas have been widely regarded as the finest pastas, and Maurizio Artisan Pasta is no exception. The name casarecce comes from the Italian word for homemade. Originating in Sicily, casarecce is made by rolling the pasta dough until it resembles a paper scroll and creates an "S" shape on the end. The unique shape of Maurizio Casarecce pairs well with hearty, chunky sauces and cream sauces. Buon Appetito!
