Preparation & Usage
Directions for Use: 1. Combine 9.52 oz (270g) Grace Johnny Cake Mix with 2/3 cup milk. Add a little milk at a time until a firm dough is formed. (Set aside a small amount of the dry mix for use during hand kneading). 2. Add more milk as necessary. 3. Divide dough into 16 balls, approx. 1 1/2 tbsp each. 4. Knead each one with floured hands for a few minutes. 5. Press gently with palm of hands and flatten to 3 inch rounds. 6. Fry in oil. Drain and serve hot. *Yields 16, 3 inch Johnny Cakes. Ideal accompaniment for any Caribbean breakfast including ackee and saltfish, also try wrapping the dough around cheese, peanut butter, apple, chicken or your favorite food, to make a delicious snack.
