Suggested Use for Nightime Tooth Protection ■ The Archtek GrindGuard™ dental tray is designed to be worn at night as a protection for those who suffer from the night time grinding of teeth. Things You Will Need ■ Hot water (approx. 2 cups) ■ Heat source (stove top, microwave) ■ Scissors ■ Cold water (approx. 2 cups) ■ Heat safe container (approx. 4 cups) ■ Paper towel Fitting Instructions Prep Step 1: Remove Guard from packaging. Step 2: Place one Guard in mouth (along upper teeth). Step 3: Practice sucking air and water out of the guard to create a vacuum seal. Note: If the Guard Feels too Large in Certain Spots You May Trim those Areas for More Comfort. Step 4: Remove Guard from mouth and begin forming process below. Heat Step 5: Heat water to a boil using a heat safe container on the stove or in the microwave. Step 6: Once water has come to a boil, remove from heat source and let cool for 2 minutes. Note: Water Must Be about 170°-190° F to Form Form Caution: Water and Container Are Hot! Step 7: Pick up the Guard using the triangular tab. Submerge the Guard into the water leaving the tab above the water to prevent your fingers from burning. Hold the Guard in the water for 17-20 seconds. Note: You Will Notice the Guard Beginning to Droop and Narrow. Do Not Let the Sides Touch! Step 8: After 17-20 seconds in the hot water, remove the Guard from the water and let the water drip off. Note: The Guard Will Be Warm but Will Not Burn. Tip: Spread the Edges of the Guard to Make a Wider Area for Your Teeth to Fit Into. Step 9: Transfer the Guard into your mouth to form to your upper teeth. Do not bite down! Note: The Guard Can Be Formed for Either the Lower or Upper Teeth. Step 10: Suck all of the water and air out of the Guard to create a vacuum seal against the teeth. Press using your tongue and fingers to form the Guard around the teeth. Keep in mouth for about a minute. Step 11: Remove the Guard and run under cool water and place the Guard on a paper towel to set and dry for 2 minutes. Test Step 12: Once the Guard has completely set, place the Guard back in your mouth to test the fit. If it remains in place when you open your mouth without it dropping out, it is a good fit! Note: If the Guard Feels too Large in Certain Spots You May Trim those Areas for More Comfort. Step 13: If the Guard does not fit to your desired satisfaction, repeat steps 5-12. Step 14: When you are satisfied with the fit, trim off the triangular tab using scissors. Care and Maintenance ■ After use, rinse under cold tap water. ■ Store in the vented storage case. ■ Keep out of direct sunlight and away from excessive heat.
