Combine chocolate chips, shortening, corn syrup and butter in a large, microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 second increments, stirring in between each until mixture is melted and smooth.
Gently stir in shredded cereal until completely coated, then press the mixture into each cup of a 12-cup muffin pan. Alternately, you can also use two spoons to scoop out small nests onto a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet. Press gently in the center of each nest to make an indent.
Chill nests in the fridge for 1 hour or until set. Remove from muffin pan/baking sheet and place chocolate eggs in the center and serve!
