Origin: Is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum. While native only to the island of Sri Lanka, Cinnamon trees are now naturalized in South East Asia.

Uses: Used in flavouring sweet and savoury foods. Grinded it is widely used on desserts, cakes, cookies, etc. Can also be used in pickling. Used for its aromatic characteristics.
